The number of websites that include the words rip-off, complaint, and scam in their domain names have risen dramatically in recent years. These sites, by virtue of their names, encourage people to post complaints about companies, while offering no avenue to help with the resolution of the consumer’s problem. This negative content provides them free search engine traffic by piggybacking off of the name of the attacked companies web searches. Their goal is not to resolve customer problems, but to produce advertising revenue for their proprietors. ETourandTravel’s recent effort provides alternatives to customers seeking to not only post a complaint, but to also have that complaint resolved.
